State Government
(1) High Court Judges receive salaries Parliament determines by law (or the Second Schedule, until then). (2) Judges get allowances and leave/pension rights Parliament determines - which cannot be varied to a Judge's disadvantage after appointment.
This mirrors Article 125 (Supreme Court Judges' pay) at the state level: High Court judges' salaries and benefits are set by Parliament (not the state), with the same protection that once appointed, a judge's terms cannot later be reduced to their disadvantage.
This is why High Court judges' pay is set uniformly by Union law (Parliament), not by each individual state - even though High Courts are state-level institutions, their judges' compensation follows a nationally-set scale.
