Cybercrime cases registered by police in India, 2014–2023. Official National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) data, reproduced unchanged.
How to read these numbers. They count cybercrime cases that police registered — not every scam, and not the money lost. Many victims never report, so the real picture is larger. A higher number for a state can mean more crime, or more reporting and registration there, so please don't read the state table as a safety ranking.
Top 10 categories as NCRB classifies them (IT Act and Indian Penal Code heads). Cheating and fraud are separate heads.
