1. What This Platform Is
reportscams.in is a public awareness tool. It is a community intelligence platform where real people share their real experiences with scammers, so that other Indians can protect themselves.
This platform does not verify, endorse, or guarantee the accuracy of any user-submitted report. Reports represent the personal experiences and observations of the people who submitted them — not findings of law enforcement, a court, or any regulatory body.
reportscams.in is not affiliated with the Reserve Bank of India, any bank, the Police, the Government of India, or any government department. We are an independent, privately operated platform. We will never ask you for your OTP, PIN, or CVV — ever.
2. Intermediary Status — Section 79, IT Act 2000
reportscams.in operates as an intermediary under Section 79 of the Information Technology Act, 2000. This means we display content submitted by our users — we do not create, edit, or endorse that content.
We will never alter the substance of a user-submitted report. We reserve the right to remove content that violates these terms, applicable law, or a valid court order — but we do not modify it to change its meaning.
3. Your Responsibility as a Submitter
By submitting a report, question, answer, or any content on this platform, you confirm:
- This is your genuine personal experience or a factual observation you believe to be true
- You are not submitting this report to harm, harass, or defame someone you know to be innocent
- You understand that liability for the content you submit rests solely with you — not with this platform
Important legal warning:
Submitting false, fabricated, or malicious reports is a criminal offence under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023, Sections 356 and 357 (criminal defamation, which replaced IPC 499/500) and may attract liability under the IT Act, Section 66. Civil defamation suits with monetary damages are also possible. If you knowingly file a false report to damage someone's reputation, you can be prosecuted. This platform will cooperate fully with law enforcement, including disclosing account details, IP address, and submission timestamps under valid legal orders.
4. Dispute and Counter-Report Mechanism
If you believe a report about you or your business is false or defamatory, you can file a counter-report through the dispute mechanism on every scammer profile page. We review all disputes in good faith and resolve them within 15 days. This process is part of our commitment to platform neutrality and our legal protection under Section 79.
We will remove content upon receipt of a valid court order or government directive within 72 hours of receiving the order.
5. Content Licence
By submitting content to this platform, you grant reportscams.in a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display, index, and distribute that content for public awareness purposes. You retain ownership of your content. We will not sell your content to third parties.

Responses from verified experts on this platform are for informational purposes only. They do not constitute formal legal, financial, or professional advice. They do not create any client-professional relationship. For formal legal representation, please engage a lawyer directly.
7. Victim Group Rooms
Content shared within Victim Group Rooms is for legal coordination purposes only — to help victims build joint cases against scammers. By joining a group room, you agree not to misuse evidence shared by other victims. This platform monitors groups for misuse and can remove members or dissolve a group if misuse is detected.
Group content can be provided to law enforcement upon receipt of a valid legal order.
8. Prohibited Conduct
- Submitting false reports to damage a competitor, enemy, or anyone you know to be innocent
- Using the platform to harass or intimidate individuals
- Attempting to scrape, copy, or commercially exploit the scam database
- Creating multiple accounts to manipulate corroboration scores
- Impersonating law enforcement, government officials, or platform staff
- Uploading malware, adult content, or illegal material
Violations may result in permanent account suspension and referral to law enforcement.
9. Limitation of Liability
reportscams.in is provided as a public awareness tool. We make no warranty that information on this platform is accurate, complete, or up to date. We are not liable for any financial or other loss arising from reliance on user-submitted content. The platform is a starting point for awareness — not a substitute for official investigation.
10. Report Expiry
Reports are automatically archived after 18 months unless the community re-confirms them. Archived reports are no longer publicly searchable but are retained by the platform for legal and analytical purposes. This policy protects against stale data and ensures the database stays relevant.
11. Premium Membership
Premium membership at ₹49/month is billed via Razorpay. You can cancel at any time from your dashboard. Refunds are not provided for partially used billing periods. Premium features are personal and non-transferable.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will notify registered users via email. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
13. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of courts in Andhra Pradesh, India.
