State Government
A person shall not be qualified for a State Legislature seat unless they are a citizen of India who takes the prescribed oath, are at least 25 (Assembly) or 30 (Council) years old, and possess any other qualifications Parliament prescribes by law.
This mirrors Article 84 (Parliament membership qualifications) at the state level - the same minimum-age pattern applies (25 for the more directly representative House, 30 for the more indirect one).
Just as a 23-year-old cannot yet contest for the Lok Sabha, they also cannot yet contest for a state Legislative Assembly seat - both require a minimum age of 25.
