The law declared by the Supreme Court shall be binding on all courts within the territory of India.
Whatever legal principle the Supreme Court lays down in its judgments must be followed by every other court in India - this is what makes Supreme Court precedent binding nationwide, ensuring consistent application of the law across the country.
Once the Supreme Court interprets a constitutional provision or a law in a particular way, every High Court and lower court in India must follow that interpretation in future cases raising the same legal question - they cannot simply disagree and rule differently.
