Union Government
Parliament may by law confer on the Supreme Court such supplemental powers, not inconsistent with the Constitution, as appear necessary or desirable to help it more effectively exercise its jurisdiction.
This lets Parliament give the Supreme Court additional practical/procedural powers, beyond what's spelled out elsewhere, to help it function more effectively in exercising the jurisdiction it already has.
This is a flexible "housekeeping" power letting Parliament fill in practical gaps in the Supreme Court's operational powers as they're identified over time, without a constitutional amendment.
