Offences Relating to Public Morals
To others' annoyance, doing an obscene act in a public place, or singing/reciting/uttering an obscene song/ballad/words in or near a public place, is punished with up to 3 months' imprisonment, up to ₹1,000 fine, or both.
This targets obscene conduct or speech performed publicly, to the annoyance of others, distinct from the material-based offences in Sections 294-295.
Publicly performing obscene acts or shouting obscene language in a way that annoys bystanders in a public place is punishable under this section.
