False Evidence and Offences Against Public Justice
Fraudulently claiming property (or practising deception about a claim to it) knowing one has no right to it, to prevent it being taken as a forfeiture/fine or in execution of a decree, is punished with up to 2 years' imprisonment, fine, or both.
This is the companion offence to Section 243, criminalising fraudulently claiming (rather than transferring) property to shield it from lawful seizure.
Falsely claiming ownership of property you know isn't yours, specifically to keep it out of the hands of a court-ordered seizure against its true owner, is an offence under this section.
