Union Government
Every Vice-President shall, before entering upon his office, make and subscribe before the President (or a person appointed by him) an oath or affirmation to bear true faith and allegiance to the Constitution of India and to faithfully discharge the duty upon which he is about to enter.
Before taking office, the Vice-President swears an oath before the President (rather than before the Chief Justice, as the President does) to be faithful to the Constitution and faithfully perform the duties of the office.
This is a notable contrast with Article 60: the President's oath is administered by the Chief Justice of India, while the Vice-President's oath is administered by the President.
