Amendment & Miscellaneous
No Parliament Act on Mizo religious/social practices, customary law, related civil/criminal justice, or land ownership/transfer applies to Mizoram unless its own Legislative Assembly agrees by resolution (except pre-existing Central Acts already in force there before 1986). The Legislative Assembly must have at least 40 members.
This mirrors Article 371A (Nagaland) for Mizoram - giving Mizo customary law and land practices similarly strong protection from automatic central legislative override, reflecting a comparable respect for Mizoram's distinct tribal identity and its own particular history of political integration into India.
Just as with Naga customary law under Article 371A, a Parliament law affecting Mizo land ownership practices needs Mizoram's own Legislative Assembly's specific agreement before it can apply there.
