State Government
If a person sits or votes as a state Legislature member before taking the required oath, or while knowingly unqualified, disqualified, or prohibited by law, they are liable to a penalty of five hundred rupees per day, recoverable as a debt due to the State.
This mirrors Article 104 at the state level - a nominal daily financial penalty for knowingly and unlawfully sitting or voting in a state Legislature without proper qualification.
This penalty would apply, for instance, to someone who continued attending and voting in a state Assembly despite knowing they had become disqualified.
