State Government
A Chairman or Deputy Chairman vacates office on ceasing to be a Council member, may resign by writing (to the Deputy Chairman or Chairman respectively), and may be removed by a resolution of the Council passed by a majority of all its then members, after at least fourteen days' notice.
This mirrors Article 90 (Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman removal) at the state level, applied to both the Chairman and Deputy Chairman of a state's Legislative Council.
If a Legislative Council's Chairman loses their Council seat for any reason, they automatically cease to be Chairman too - the two positions are linked.
