State Government
A Speaker or Deputy Speaker vacates office on ceasing to be an Assembly member, may resign by writing (to the Deputy Speaker or Speaker respectively), and may be removed by a resolution of the Assembly passed by a majority of all its then members after at least fourteen days' notice - though the Speaker continues in office until just before the newly-elected Assembly's first meeting, even after a dissolution.
This mirrors Article 94 (Lok Sabha Speaker/Deputy Speaker removal) at the state level, including the same rule that the outgoing Speaker continues in office through a dissolution until the new Assembly's first sitting.
Even during the gap between a state Assembly's dissolution and the next Assembly's first sitting after an election, there is technically still a sitting Speaker (the outgoing one), just as with the Lok Sabha.
