Parliament may by law confer on the Supreme Court the power to issue directions, orders, or writs (habeas corpus, mandamus, prohibition, quo warranto, and certiorari) for purposes other than the Fundamental Rights enforcement already covered under Article 32(2).
While Article 32 already gives the Supreme Court writ powers specifically to enforce Fundamental Rights, this article lets Parliament extend the Supreme Court's writ-issuing power to other purposes as well, through ordinary legislation.
This allows Parliament to give the Supreme Court additional writ jurisdiction for matters beyond pure Fundamental Rights violations, if it decides by law to do so.
