Until Parliament provides otherwise, the Supreme Court also has jurisdiction and powers, for matters not covered by Articles 133 or 134, that the pre-Constitution Federal Court had immediately before the Constitution's commencement.
This is a transitional/carry-over provision ensuring the Supreme Court (which replaced the pre-independence Federal Court) inherited any jurisdiction the old Federal Court had, for matters not otherwise specifically addressed elsewhere in the Constitution.
This kind of provision is largely of historical interest today, having smoothed the transition of judicial authority from the colonial-era Federal Court to the newly created Supreme Court in 1950.
