The Supreme Court shall be a court of record and shall have all the powers of such a court including the power to punish for contempt of itself.
As a "court of record", the Supreme Court's proceedings and decisions are recorded as authoritative and cannot be questioned when produced as evidence in other proceedings, and the Court has the power to punish anyone for contempt of court - disrespecting or interfering with its authority or proceedings.
This is the constitutional basis for the Supreme Court's contempt jurisdiction, under which it can punish someone (including with fines or imprisonment) for wilfully disobeying its orders or scandalising the Court's authority.
