Offences Against Women and Children
Buying, hiring, or otherwise obtaining a child intending (or knowing likely) that they'll be used for prostitution or unlawful purposes at any age, is punished with rigorous imprisonment of 7-14 years plus fine. The same presumption as Section 98 applies when a prostitute/brothel-keeper obtains a female under 18.
This mirrors Section 98 from the buyer's side - criminalising the demand side of child trafficking (purchasing a child for exploitation), with an even higher minimum sentence than the selling offence, and the same helpful evidentiary presumption for prosecutors.
Both the seller (Section 98) and buyer (this section) in a child-trafficking transaction face serious criminal liability, with the law specifically targeting both sides of this trade.
