Offences Affecting Public Health, Safety and Convenience
Knowingly/negligently omitting adequate measures with an animal in one's possession, guarding against probable danger of death or grievous hurt from it, is punished with up to 6 months' imprisonment, up to ₹5,000 fine, or both.
This holds animal owners liable for failing to take reasonable precautions against a known-dangerous animal in their care.
An owner who knowingly fails to properly restrain a dangerous animal, creating a probable risk of serious injury to others, commits this offence.
