Offences Affecting Public Health, Safety and Convenience
Knowingly/negligently omitting adequate precautions while pulling down, repairing, or constructing a building, guarding against probable danger from its collapse, is punished with up to 6 months' imprisonment, up to ₹5,000 fine, or both.
This addresses building-safety negligence during construction, repair, or demolition work.
A contractor who negligently fails to take standard safety precautions during demolition, creating a probable risk of the building collapsing on bystanders, commits this offence.
