General Provisions
An act not intended to cause death isn't an offence for any harm it causes/risks to a consenting person, if done in good faith for that person's benefit.
This is the core legal basis protecting medical treatment - a doctor performing a risky but necessary procedure with the patient's consent, intending their benefit (not their death), is protected even if the harm risked is serious.
A surgeon who performs a high-risk but medically necessary operation with the patient's informed consent, genuinely intending to help them, is protected under this section even if the patient dies as an unintended result.
