Contempts of the Lawful Authority of Public Servants
Failing to appear per a published proclamation (BNSS Section 84(1)) is punished with up to 3 years' imprisonment, fine, community service, or a combination - rising to up to 7 years plus fine if declared a proclaimed offender.
This is a more serious version of nonattendance, specifically for someone formally proclaimed as an absconding accused under criminal procedure law.
An accused person who is formally declared a "proclaimed offender" for failing to appear after a published proclamation faces this section's enhanced penalty, on top of whatever underlying charges they face.
