Offences Relating to Elections
Applying for a voting paper in another person's name (living, dead, or fictitious), voting twice at the same election, or abetting/procuring such personation, is the offence of personation at an election - except for a lawfully authorised proxy voter.
This criminalises voter fraud through impersonation - voting as, or on behalf of, someone else without lawful authority - with an explicit exception for legally recognised proxy voting.
Applying for a ballot paper in a deceased or absent registered voter's name, to cast an extra vote, is personation under this section.
