General Provisions
Nothing is an offence if done by someone who is (or who, due to a genuine mistake of fact - not law - in good faith believes they are) legally justified in doing it.
This mirrors Section 14, but for actions that are legally justified (permitted) rather than legally required - protecting someone who reasonably, though mistakenly, believed their action was lawfully justified.
Someone who, in good faith and using their best judgment, apprehends a person they genuinely believe to be committing murder (in order to hand them to authorities) is protected under this exception, even if it later emerges the situation was actually self-defence rather than murder.
