Offences Relating to the Armed Forces
Abetting mutiny by, or attempting to seduce from duty/allegiance, an officer/soldier/sailor/airman of India's Army, Navy, or Air Force, is punished with life imprisonment or up to 10 years' imprisonment plus fine.
This protects military discipline and loyalty by criminalising both instigating mutiny and merely attempting to turn armed-forces personnel away from their duty, even if the attempt fails.
Someone who tries to persuade a serving soldier to abandon their duty or allegiance commits this offence even if the soldier refuses to go along with it.
