Offences Against the Human Body
(1) Causing hurt to extort a confession/information about an offence, or to compel restoration of property/satisfaction of a claim, is punished with up to 7 years' imprisonment plus fine. (2) Causing grievous hurt for the same purpose is punished with up to 10 years' imprisonment plus fine.
This specifically criminalises torture-like conduct used to extract confessions or force the return of property - notably, this applies even to police officers who torture suspects to extract confessions, which is itself illegal under this section.
A police officer who tortures a suspect to force a confession, or who physically coerces someone to reveal the location of stolen property, commits a specific offence under this section - police custody doesn't exempt this conduct from criminal liability.
