An investigation has been launched into an alleged real estate fraud in Gurgaon, where three men are accused of cheating property buyers of approximately Rs 1 crore. According to police and company reports, the suspects posed as sales representatives of the real estate firm Orris Infrastructure.
The scheme allegedly involved convincing victims to pay cash as token money for plot allotments in the company's Wood View Residency Project located in Sector-89. To appear legitimate, the accused reportedly instructed buyers to issue checks in the name of the real estate company, while pocketing the cash themselves. The fraud came to light after affected customers visited the company's office to inquire about missing confirmation letters.
A representative for the real estate firm formally lodged a cheating complaint, leading police to register a case against the accused individuals, including two named suspects. Authorities stated that the investigation into the conspiracy and the total financial losses has been handed over to the Economic Offences Wing.
