Telegram Task Scams

What is this scam?

Task scams are one of the fastest-spreading fraud types in India, operating almost exclusively through Telegram and WhatsApp. They begin with a simple, appealing offer — earn money for liking YouTube videos, rating apps, or completing surveys. The initial payments are genuine — designed to build trust. Once trust is established, victims are drawn into a 'deposit to earn more' trap where every attempt to withdraw triggers a new requirement for more money.

How it works — step by step

   Stage 1 — Trust Building: Small tasks (like 5 videos) — victim receives genuine payment of ₹200–500.

2. 2

   Stage 2 — Upsell: Offered 'advanced tasks' requiring a deposit of ₹2,000–10,000 to access higher earnings.

3. 3

   Stage 3 — The Trap: Completes tasks but withdrawal is blocked — must complete a 'set' or deposit more to withdraw.

4. 4

   Stage 4 — Collapse: Group disappears — admin unreachable — Telegram channel deleted. Victim loses entire deposited amount.

• ⚠️Any platform that requires you to deposit money to access higher-paying tasks
• ⚠️Withdrawal that requires completing an endless 'set' of tasks that keeps getting extended
• ⚠️Platform shows your 'earnings' in real time on a professional-looking dashboard — this number is fabricated

✅ What to do if you've been targeted
