Attempts to Commit Offences
If the act for which an abettor is liable under Section 51 is committed IN ADDITION to (not instead of) the originally abetted act, and constitutes a distinct offence, the abettor is liable for punishment for each offence separately.
This allows for cumulative (stacked) punishment when an abettor's scheme results in multiple distinct offences, rather than just one - if the abetted act happens AND an additional related offence also occurs as a probable consequence, the abettor can be punished for both.
Someone who instigates resistance to a lawful government action, which results in both the resistance itself and a separate grievous-hurt injury to an official, can be held liable for both offences separately if they knew grievous hurt was a likely outcome.
