Offences Against Property
Mischief committed by: reducing water supply for essential uses (up to 5 years, fine, or both); making a public road/bridge/waterway impassable or unsafe (up to 5 years, fine, or both); causing damaging inundation or drainage obstruction (up to 5 years, fine, or both); destroying/moving navigation signs (up to 7 years, fine, or both); destroying/moving official landmarks (up to 1 year, fine, or both); using fire/explosives to damage property (up to 7 years plus fine); or using fire/explosives to destroy a dwelling/worship place/property-custody building (life imprisonment or up to 10 years plus fine).
This is a detailed, tiered set of enhanced mischief offences for specific high-impact methods and targets - essential infrastructure, navigation, and especially fire/explosives used against occupied buildings, which carries the chapter's most severe penalty.
Deliberately setting fire to a building used as someone's home carries this section's most severe penalty tier - up to life imprisonment - given the direct danger to human life involved, distinct from ordinary property-damage mischief.
