Offences Relating to the Armed Forces
A non-military person wearing a garb or carrying a token resembling that of armed-forces personnel, intending to be believed to be such personnel, is punished with up to 3 months' imprisonment, up to ₹2,000 fine, or both.
This criminalises impersonating military personnel through uniform or insignia to deceive others into believing you hold that status.
Someone who wears a fake army uniform specifically to be mistaken for a serving soldier - for example, to gain unearned trust or access - commits this impersonation offence.
